We believe that the Middle Oak Church is perhaps the best example of a New Testament church in Birmingham.

Services are held in this tent on Sundays and Wednesdays. The church, which initially met under an oak tree, and in the homes of members, worked together to lay a concrete slab and erect the tent three years ago. Attendance continues to increase at a rapid pace, with over 75 gathering on most Sunday mornings despite extreme heat in summer, and the cold winds in winter. Middle Oak holds baptism services in the nearby Warrior River. Over 50 people have been baptized in the river over the past six months!

Due to Jefferson county ordinances, the tent must be replaced by a permanent structure soon. Our friends at Myrick Gurosky and Associates have designed a simple church building for Middle Oak, which will allow for about 200 people, and will include bathrooms and Sunday School space in addition to the main worship center. Construction on the new Middle Oak Church building started in early June, and is expected to be complete by mid to late August!
